Wow! I feel like i was just blogging about my first Boxycharm in July and now my August box is here. I really liked my first Boxycharm and I like this months box even more!! I feel like there was a great variety of products and as always i love how Boxycharm is all full-sized products! The first product I received in this box was the Tarina Tarantino Conditioning Lip Sheen in the color Penny Arcade (subtle orangey-pink). I am a huge lipstick fan and user so i always appreciate getting more lip products. Tarina Tarantino always has beautiful packing and this product is no different. Its a heavy chrome colored tube accented with rhinestones! This lip color goes on so easily and is really really moisturizing. I have a feeling this is going to find its way into my everyday makeup look very quickly. This lip sheen retails for $22.00. The second product i received was a Morphe Brush Powder Brush. Again i was very excited for this products because i have very few brushed. This brush is incredibly soft, great for applying powder or bronzer and retails for $19.99. Product number 3 was Ofra Cosmetics Americano Bronzer that retails for $35.00. This was the product i was least excited about (though still excited) . I do not typically use bronzer i am a blush girl. If you have read my previous posts, you will know that my skin is extremely fair so bronzer is tricky for me. I do love that this bronzer has some shimmer to it and seems very soft. I am looking forward to experimenting with this! Product 4 was also from Ofra and was eyeliner in the shade grapeful (dark purple). I was super excited to get purple eyeliner. I only ever use black or dark brown and like the idea of stepping out of the box. When swatched this applied easily and i plan on using it tomorrow! This fun eyeliner retails for $13.00. The last product for this month was ModelCo cheek and lip tint in Rosy Red.This retails for $22.00. This looks REALLY dark until you blend it out and alittle goes along way. I feel like i am going to like this way more than the Tints and Sass lip and cheek stain i got from IPSY last month. That particular stain was sticky and disappointing. This tint seems a lot more workable! All in all this was a great month. Boxycharm is on a roll and i cant wait to see what they come up with for September. Check out my link if you are interested!https://www.boxycharm.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/8568/ This month i received my first ever Boxycharm and boy was i impressed. If i ever had to pick between this and IPSY it would be boxycharm all the way. Boxycharm is more expensive than IPSY ($21.00) but all of the products you get are FULL SIZED which i really really like! While this box was more expensive then IPSY , its retail value was much greater than that of products in my IPSY bags. For my July BOXYCHARM i paid $21.00 and my box retailed for over $130.00. The first product included in this box was a lip liner from Bellapierre cosmetics. This retails for 18 dollars. I got this product in the shade nude. I have never really used a lip liner before but if i was, nude is probably a shade that i would try. I will be interested to see the staying power of this lip liner because its not something i could see myself wanting to have to reapply frequently throughout my day. The second product was also from Bellapierre cosmetics. It was their shimmer powder in the shade gold brown that retails for $14.99. With blue eyes , blonde hair, and fair skin i love shadows that are shades of brown and gold. The great thing about this powder is that it can be used for a bronzer/highlighter or an eye shadow. Just based on the color i know this is a product i will be using a lot. The next item was MORE PURLISSE ...it will have the most well mositurzied skin in the midwest. Read my other reviews to find out about Purlisse, it retails for 55 dollars. The final two products were my favorite in the box. The first was a lipstick from Appeal Cosmetics that retails for $22.00. I received the shade kitten which is a deep baby pink with a bit of shimmer to it. I really like the formula of this lipstick. Its highly pigmented and extremely creamy . If there is one thing i cant stand in lip products, its lip products that go on dry (like the Caylynn lip color i received in my IPSY bad several months ago). The lipstick felt really moisturizing while on and stayed on well. The last thing i received in my very first Boxycharm was nail polish from Lauren B. Beauty. Everyone got the same shade which was called Rodeo Drive. The reason i loved this product was because it was a true red polish. So many red polishes have too many orange tones in them. This is a nice cool toned red polish that reminds me of a good pair of red high heels! I cant wait to wear this out for a special occasion! All in All i loved my first every Boxycharm and would highly recommend it. Next month's theme is beach babe and they already released we will be getting a bronzer valued at $35.00. Check it out! https://www.boxycharm.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/8568/ Ashley and I (my building's Reading Specialist) are sharing a room next year and will be hitting the stores tomorrow to decide on our theme and get the materials needed to make our room a happy place to be! keep a look out for our purchases! Ok! So i am lucky enough to be standing up in two weddings in the next 9 months! I am super thrilled to get to be a special part of a special day that i did not have to plan! My husband and i will be married two years come October (and going on together for 9 years) and our wedding day was amazing and went off without any issues. I like to think that a lot of that was due to all my planning and research. We had a fun and beautiful day, but as the Bride and Groom is was hard to completely relax and let go that day. Needless to say i am looking forward to these next two beautiful weddings where i still get to be involved in the glitz and magic that is all things wedding, without having to be the one in charge of it all! Now i'm sure it it no surprise that i love hair accessories, the glitzier the better! Clearly there is no better excuse for fancy hair accessories than standing up in a wedding! For my own wedding i searched high and low to find my hairpiece . I did not want something that just sat it my hair but a piece that had some height and shape to it. The tiara/crown i ended up finding reminded me of something a Disney princess would wear, was covered in things that sparkled, and i was obsessed with the shape of it! The first wedding I am participating in is a winter wedding at the beginning of December. The bridesmaids are wearing navy blue floor length gowns with cap sleeves. i always get my hair put up for formal occasions, so i look for something that can rest in or amongst my styled hair. The second wedding is a spring wedding in May where the bridesmaids are wearing full length, one shoulder, lavender gowns. This lovely spring bride also happens to share my love of all things sparkly and is on board with my go big or go home attitude about bedazzles! Etsy (www.etsy.com) is going to be my go to for these weddings. I have found amazing hair accessories in both color pallets that i hope will look great with the dresses. Here's hoping everything looks as nice as it does in the pictures and that the size of the accessories is not too large or too small! Well before i was even able to make my judgement call on my first order from Haute Look (Still a few more weeks till its set to ship) there was another deal that i could not pass up. While checking my e-mail last night I came across this new event from Haute look., called the Nordstrom beauty bag. I don't think i will be able to truly say if this was a good deal or money well spent until i have the phyiscal bag in my hands. Here is the list of products that the bag is supposed to include : - Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief: - Coty Balenciaga Rosabotanica: - Coty Bottega Venetta Essence Aromatique: - Estee Lauder Sumptuous Infinite Darling Length & Volume Mascara: - Fresh Rose Facial Mask: - Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss: - Lancome Renergie Multi Lift Action Moisturizer: - Living Proof PHD Styler: - Lorac Deluxe Lip Lustre Lip Gloss: - Molton Brown Pink Peppered Body Wash: - Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer: - Stila Deluxe Lip Glaze: - Whish Pomegranate Body Butter: - Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3 in 1 Cleanser for Face & Eyes: - Ciate Mini Nail Lacquer: It goes without saying that i can't wait for this purchase to arrive and will definitely post a review of the products that i receive! http://www.hautelook.com/invite/MO'Hara061 I know what you are thinking. Another subscription box, is this girl crazy? Why does she keep Blowing money?!? Well let me tell you about the deal i got on this box because i could not pass it up. It was $2.50! That's right all i had to pay for my first box was shipping! I thought i would be crazy not to utilize this great deal. For the cost of shipping my welcome box came with two nail polishes and 1 beauty product. Can i just say how much i adore all of Julep's packaging?!?! Everything looks very sleek and symmetrical! I have been know to buy based on packaging before! So here is what i got in my welcome box. The first item is Mighty Nail and Cuticle Serum. I have never tried a cuticle serum before and now is the perfect time. During the school year i typically sport a no-chip to help keep my nails look neat. Since summer break stared i have not gone once for a manicure and my cuticles are a wreck! Hang nails galore. I am sincerely hoping this product helps remedy that! The first polish is the blue shade Jeanne. Its a bit more vibrant than it is reading in the picture. Its a shade or two darker than baby blue. I think its a bright fun color perfect for summer or spring. The second polsih is the pink-orange shade Harriet. This shade is reminiscent of the zoya polish i got in my FABFITFUN box but has more pink tones than the zoya polish. The thing that i like about these two polishes is that they are very complimentary to each other. I swatched them on nails right next to each other and the colors look great together! Now i had no intentions of getting the next box (where you can custom pick the items btw) However the kind folks at Julep sent be a 50% off coupon so when they release their new items in four days i may look and consider 1 more box. Do you want a Free Julep Box? Go to their website and upon check out enter the code freebox or shipshape. You will only have to pay shipping! Enjoy and let me know what YOU think of Juelp's subscription services! http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/1052285/ OK all! Here is my second subscription box for the moth of July! Ipsy is a makeup subscription service where for ten dollars a month you receive 4-5 beauty items that are typically sample or deluxe sample size. This is my seventh month with Ipsy and as with all subscription services some months have been better than others. The makeup bag this month (you get a bag every month) is hot pink imitation leather and i think this may be one of my fave makeup bags they have given! The first product i received was the Models Own nail polish. It is an opaque pink red with chunks of glitter in it. LOVE a good glitter polish...well almost anything with glitter for me is a win. Due to the opaqueness i would probably not use this as a stand alone but more for a topcoat. I also wish it had more glitter in it. The next item i am not even going to go into details about since i mentioned it in previous posts. More Purlisse. Let me repeat, more purlisse moisturizer. Enough said. My next item is the Faith Aromatherapy Citrus Ginger body lotion. This smells VERY citrus-y. Thankfully i like that smell. If you are not a fan, i have a feeling you would hate this. It feels nice on my hands and i will probably keep it in my desk drawer at work for when my hands are all dried out from all the Hanitizer (teacher joke!) aka hand sanitizer. Two more items to go. I received Elizabeth Mott's Tints and Sass lip and cheek stain. This is a nice size sample. .35 oz which goes a long way. I tired this on my lips and like the color it goes on. Its not too dark or overpowering but still is a nice pop of color. My last item is a bareMinerals 5in1 cream eyeshadow in the shade divine wine. Originally this swatched very dark but with a little blending it lightened up. I don't typically do cream eye shadow so I am excited and willing to give this a try. All in all the was an average bag with the cheek and lip stain being my favorite product from the bag. Here is a link if you are interested in IPSY. http://www.ipsy.com/r/56nd OMG! if you have not hear of Erin Condren products, let me be the first to tell you how adorable all of her products are! They are all also able to be personalized. If you know me, you know that i am a sucker for anything personalized! I first heard of Erin Condren from my friend Emily who i teach with. She had the cutest, personalized, and comprehensive lesson plan book for work! I had to find out where it came from and wa-la! I was introduced to the wonder that is Erin Condren. Now at the time i was busy saving for out wedding so spending this kind of cash was out of the question! Be warned, so of these products are pricey (thought when you sign up as a new customer you get a ten dollar off welcome coupon). But i can almost excuse the high price tag because they are SOOOO cute and sassy!! I have been looking at and considering the Life Planner. I think it would be really helpful for keeping track of important work and home dates, bills, doctors appointments, important deadlines ect. The life planner has goal lists, monthly calenders, weekly calenders, stickers for important evens, and a folder pocket for keeping important documents. Additionally there is a whole ton of accessories you can buy to further enhance your planner. Pens, bookmarks, zipper pouches....lots of possibilities. So here stands Glitzy Gal's Dilemma do i bite the bullet and buy the life planner which is so cute or is fifty dollars...forty with my coupon just too much to fork over for a simple planner or. lesson plan book. Have you purchased any Erin Condren products? What did you think? I'll keep you posted on which way i go with this decision. Ill include my link if your interested in checking any of her products out. https://www.erincondren.com/referral/invite/maryohara1004 Liquid foundation is something that i have only found myself using in the last 10 months or so. A million years ago when i first started wearing makeup on a daily basis all i used on my skin was a Cover Girl Pressed Powder. A few years back my cousin Kevin who is an AMAZING makeup artist turned me onto Mac Studio Fix (LOVE me some MAC!) pressed powder which provided more coverage without using a liquid foundation. Now i have always have very fair and very sensitive skin and in the last 9 months or so i have noticed a lot of red in my cheek area on my skin. It does not hurt and is not dry (my skin tends to run average with dry spots) and no amount of soothing products cures it. So alas i was promoted to add a liquid foundation to my makeup routine. I started using Loreal Lumi Foundation which i would apply with a sponge or my fingers when i was in a rush. it was an impulse buy and i liked the packaging. While i felt like i got decent coverage, it left my skin feeling really slick. That is why i decide to give a mousse foundation a try. I did not know how much coverage i would get, but i was willing to try. I decided to forgo a sponge this time too and purchased a cheep foundation brush at target for around 8 dollars. i applied the foundation with my fingers and blended it with the brush. I was happily surprised! I think the foundation did a great job of covering up my red and what i really loved is the way it felt on my skin!! It was super soft with almost a powdery feeling, not at all oily or slick! This product definitely gets a thumbs up from this gal! |
